Local people across the St Albans District are at the heart of everything we do. When money is tight or life takes an unexpected turn, St Albans & District Foodbank is here to provide emergency food and essential hygiene items to individuals and families facing difficult moments.

Alongside food, we offer a warm welcome and a cup of tea, where people can take a moment to pause. Our wellbeing team can help people connect with local advice and support, at their own pace, so they don’t have to face challenges alone. Everyone who comes to us is treated with kindness, dignity and respect. We are more than a foodbank.

The Saracens Foundation was founded in 2000 and is the charitable arm of Saracens Rugby Club. Over the last 25 years, we have invested millions of pounds on delivering a variety of social impact projects to our local community using sport and physical activity as the tools for positive engagement.

These projects include support for our disability participants, refugees, those over 50, those in prison, school children at risk of expulsion or offending, as well as school children who don’t necessarily have the opportunity to take part in sport outside of school.

Each project has a positive impact, improving health, wellbeing, and employability within the communities we serve.

Saracens - Transforming Lives

Youth homelessness can be a repeating cycle. The biggest cause of which is family breakdown. It doesn’t have to be this way. This is why our mission is to break the cycle of youth homelessness in Hertfordshire.

Our experienced workers are experts in their field and have directly helped over 5,400 young people facing homelessness in the last 5 years alone. Our services range from prevention, including Education in schools to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to prevent a crisis.

Family mediation to support families who are experiencing conflict or a breakdown in relationship. As well as early intervention services, crisis support and independent living support, to help the young person to be successful long after they have been supported by us.

Walk the Walk Family Support Service (WTWFSS) is a Hertfordshire based charity which walks alongside families and children impacted by trauma, abuse and poverty.

Our aim is to support families to stay together or reconnect, and we provide practical parenting support, talking therapy, a listening service, and a children's contact centre.

We offer a life-time commitment to all who need us and all of our services are bespoke to your needs.

We will, and we do walk the walk to create positive, sustained outcomes in the families we serve.

Walk The Walk CIC – Family Support Service

The Open Door St Albans Charity is a community response to rough sleeping in the St Albans area.

For over 30 years, we have worked in partnership with other local organisations, providing funding and volunteers to improve the life chances of those finding themselves homeless or vulnerable.

In all our activities, we work to ensure everyone, no matter their story, is treated supportively, with kindness and without judgement. We give a listening ear, empower and give worth to individuals.
