Half Marathon
Starting and finishing in Verulamium Park, the St Albans Half Marathon will take you through the stunning country lanes of St Albans. Although you may come across a hill or two, the view from the top makes it worthwhile. Known as the friendliest Half Marathon in the area, our marshals will cheer you on and entertain you with their fancy dress, and the free ice lolly waiting for you at the finish line is sure to get you through those last few miles! And don't forget it's wheelchair friendly!
Note: that due to limitations on the length of the road closures, anyone who has not passed the 10k turnaround point by 10:50am will be asked to drop down to the 10k route, for safety reasons. This is the equivalent of running at approximately 8min30 per km pace. We would recommend that anyone who thinks they may be at risk of making this cutoff, considers entering the Walking Half marathon.

Our popular closed-road 10K returns for its third year, offering runners the chance to experience the excitement of race day on traffic-free roads. Starting alongside the half marathon runners, the 10K delivers an unforgettable event atmosphere from the very first mile. There is no cut off time for the 10K!
Open to participants aged 15 and over.

This years 5K will start on the running track with a route that takes you around the stunning Verulamium Park. This 5k is perfect for anyone! Whether you're a budding athlete looking to beat your personal best or new to running and wanting to tackle an extended fun run distance. Our marshals will cheer you on and entertain you with their fancy dress the whole way round. And the free ice lolly waiting for you at the finish line is sure to get you through those last few kilometeres!

fun run
With a route that starts in the park and finishes on the Westminster Lodge Running Track, the 1.5 Mile Fun Run is a great way to get the kids active at the start of summer! Children aged 11 and over can run it alone, but those 10 years and under must run with an adult. All children must be collected by an adult, from the track. Our marshals will cheer you on and encourage you the whole way round, and there's even a medal and free ice lolly waiting for you at the finish line!
